Our Story

ERICA – the Episcopal Refugee & Immigrant Center Alliance – was founded as an outreach ministry of the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Baltimore. In 2001 parishioners who were refugees from the Liberian Civil War worked together with other members of the Cathedral’s congregation to found this program to welcome those fleeing injustice, poverty, and oppression in other countries. Since its inception, ERICA has worked with over 700 humanitarian newcomers from 72 countries and provided small grants and interest free loans totaling over $125,000 for family reunification and immigration legal/government fees.
